I went to a knitting group at my LYS Only Ewe and Cotton Too on Sunday because I was meeting up with a few people from Ravelry, as well as going to see what hopefully will become the World's Largest Sock! Apparently it was started in England by a lady and her group. I believe they're doing it for charity, but they are sending this sock around to different yarn stores and/or knitting groups so that others will get the chance to work on it. Last it was in Rochester, NY before making its way down to the Atlanta area. Who knows where it'll go after this? It was pretty fun to work on, and I got to meet fellow Ravelers and bloggers peachtreeknitte and kateyj, as well as meet other local knitters. I would totally do it again if it ever came to town. A note on the sock: the lady from the Atlanta Knitting Guild said that the "cuff" of the sock would have to be knitted to at least 12.3 feet (yes, feet, not inches!) before turning the heel! We definitely got a long long long way to go!
