I was commissioned by the wonderful Patchwork Pottery Artist Laurraine Yuyama to make these cloths.

Yes, they are boring and I complained about having to make one stitch over and over again, but I’ve actually missed having something mindless to knit while just sitting around! Here's the pattern.

I think I’ll start another one this evening. :-)

What did you use to make these? I can tell it is not the Crystal Palace Chenille! (Which is beautiful, but impractical for kitchen cloths IMHO!) Is it just dishcloth cotton? I bookmarked the pattern for later use. Thank you for posting!

I love mindless knitting like this! It's very zen and relaxing. What kind of cotton did you use? Those colors are so earthy and pretty.

Thanks, and you're welcome! I used Sugar n' Cream in Ecru and Jute and Peaches & Cream in Camel. I love working with dishcloth cotton...it does feel so 'earthy'.

I have a couple of these I have bought at garage sales, they really are the BEST!!!! The weave makes for a really soft abrasive when cleaning counter tops and cabinets!
